Lights

C1 told his dad the other day that the light in our kitchen that has been going out is "glitching".

C4's new anthology

C4 has been studying poetry this week.  Every day he comes home and tells me about the new form of poem he has written then practices writing more.  He is making a collection and has been begging me for a notebook to keep them all safe.  We finally went down this morning and got his notebook for him.  Here are some samples of his work:

Cake
Unlike pancakes
Put'em on a plate
Crumbly
Addicting
Kids love it
Everything you could want

R-2
small, gray
rolling, beeping, flying
he was pretty good
robot

Acrobats are arching answers
Baloney bumps beneath blurky blue blobs
Crying cupcakes carry cats carrying coyotes
Dragons dong dive daisily
Elephants eat eggnog
Flying fish fly flaply
Gurgling gorillas grab gumbo
Happy horses honk happily
I'm iglooing independantly
Jello jumps jittery
Kitties kick kangaroos
Leopards lick loudly
Many monsters may mingle
Knights nail nowhere
Octopuses operate onions
Platypuses poke printly
Quadrilaterals quack quietly
Raptors roar riply
"Several silly sharks swim somewhere sadly." said Sean.
T. Rexs triumphantly taunt
Unicorns unearth uneasily.
Vampires vanillaly vanish.
Weeds whistle wacky.
Xeroxes x-ray xylophonely
Yaks yank yams.
Zebras zip zinnias.

C2, C3 and baby dolls

So my two older girls have been WAY into being Mommy lately.  They carry around baby dolls (C2's is named Baby Rose and C3's is named Baby Bell).  They get their babies dressed, put them down for naps, and feed their babies - by "nursing" them.  Also the day after C4's first birthday we had a party for C2's baby and the following day was C3's baby's turn.  C2 even got her baby all dressed in a necklace and a tutu and picked a nice sunny wall so we could do a smash cake photo session with her baby doll.  They are the sweetest little things!

You'd forget your head!

Today during breakfast C3 told me that her head was super heavy and it wouldn't come off..."Because Jesus taped it on!"  She said she was so lucky "He taped it good or else it would fall in the garbage!"

Other fun things about C3:  she says all of her /r/ sounds like an "ee":
door - doeee
more - moeee
she also says gararage like "bagwadj".

And yesterday when C4 was getting her iron tested C3 patted her arm and told her to be brave and that she would be ok in her mommy voice.  She has been just delightful lately!

Poetry

C1 came down and read me some poems he wrote this morning:

Lemonade Stand

If you go out to play
On a hot summers day,
And you haven't' had one drink all day
And you're willing to pay,
One dollar sixty five each,
Then go and get a drink!
(Glug glug) Wink!

Silly Day

If a clown comes out to play,
then a hound comes out to play,
"Then" said the clown,
"We will call it a silly day!"
Then the hound only said "arooo!"

Spring time sayings

Here are a few funny one-liners from this weekend:

C2 told us that the "trees are dancing" while we were in IFA's parking lot during a windy afternoon.

After C3 got in trouble Saturday morning she was talking with her dad about it being hard to do the right thing sometimes...she replied "I don't like hard things".

C1 has been into writing and illustrating little books, mainly about our family being awesome Jedi knights and taking out super monsters or robots or both.  As he was showing me his latest story he got to a picture of him "teleportating" onto the spaceship that his dad was flying.

Dad asked C2 to go get C3 to help clean up a mess downstairs.  He hear C2 tell her little sister:  "Daddy commands you to come downstairs!"

C2 lately

So C2 has been on a roll lately for saying funny things, here are a few examples:

At dinner a few weeks ago:  Daddy told C1 to use his fork because he was not a barbarian.  A few seconds later C1 asked..."Dad, what is a barbarian?"  Then C2 pipes up and answers "you know that!  Barbarians give you books at the library!"

Then tonight at the dinner table, we were eating ham bone soup and C3 was picking out all of the different kinds of beans.  She would comment with "here is a bean!" each time she found one...then she couldn't find any more and told me "I don't know where a bean is!"  To which C2 answered "You don't have a penis...you aren't a boy!"
