Super Sweet and Sassy

So Cindy Kay has always been very sweet and very sassy.  She knows what she wants, that is for sure.  Today Cyrus needed a stool so I sent him down into our basement to get one and I told Cindy Kay that she needed to stay upstairs with me.  This was not what she wanted.  My sweet little two-year-old turned to me and said, "I am not going to play with you any more...I am going to go up to my bedroom and cry".  Whoa - and I was really fighting mixed emotions (trying not to laugh, being proud of her for putting together such a long phrase, and trying to decide if I should let her get away with talking back like that...).

Names for our new baby

Cyrus has been working hard to pick a name for our baby (which he is convinced will be a boy).  A few days ago at the breakfast table he told us he had picked the perfect name..."Housebreaker".  Eric and I burst out laughing and then of course I felt terrible for laughing right in my poor son's face but, come on, who wouldn't have?

What Cyrus thinks is funny.

I started posting on our blog and Cyrus told me something funny he says is "Cyrus Eugene Silly Neff" because it has a funny word in it. Cindy Kay has been pretty funny lately because all she wants to wear are her princess padamies. She is also way into pointing out, which things are for "big girls", which things are for "big boys" and which things are for babies. She has finally realized that we are going to have a new baby, but she is confused as to whether the baby is in Mommy's tummy or her own.
Tonight at dinner, Cyrus told us he was the King of the Planet whose favorite food is Tuna Casserole. Cindy Kay claimed she was the King, I told her only boys could be Kings and that she should be a Queen, and she quickly changed to the Princess of the Planet whose favorite food is Tuna Casserole.

Daddy's jokes

During lunch today Cyrus turned to me and yelled "who's at the door?" I had not heard anyone at the door and I told him so.  He told me Daddy had taught him to say, "who's at the door?" and then say "banana".  It was at that point everything clicked.  Cyrus and Eric must have been practicing "Knock knock" jokes.

Pets

Last month we got a new dog and yesterday in the car Cyrus was ready for an upgrade.  He told me "a kangaroo would make a good pet, better than a giraffe because it is not so big".

Cindy Kay is now using two word phrases, like: hat on, hat off, shoes on, shoes off, momma pretty (describing my jewelry), where is he/she, sammy bone, ect.  She loves to chat and says hello to people in the store and then tells them goodbye.  It is pretty cute.

Technology

Today Cyrus was talking on the phone with my mom and he was telling her about how I made muffins (totally untrue, I brought home some extra cupcakes from a RS activity).  He told my mom that I am "quite a good baker".  Which I thought was super cute.

Then tonight he turned to me at dinner and asked me "Is LOL a number?"  Ha Ha

Quick Cindy sayings:
ball, cookie, momma, daddy, ba ba (brother), Jesus, cheese, please, no, yeah, tweet tweet, monkey sound, woof, eat, Pops, up, down, open, more, on, hat, bum, eye, go, fish, boo

Quick Cindy signings:
cookie, help, please, mine, baby, eat, drink, bird, shoes, more, hat, go, fish

Now he's in preschool :)

Cyrus brought home a pudding art picture today and we enjoyed smelling it, apparently he got really into squishing the pudding in his hands, his picture was covered! Well as I was preparing lunch I found Cyrus teaching Cindy how to lick his picture, what a yummy snack! He tells me "she likes to smell it and lick it the most"

Also I have been volunteering at his preschool and helping the kids with counting and matching.  Today during lunch I was counting with Cyrus and we were in the twenties...he says twenty-one, twenty-two...twenty-eight, twenty-nine, twenty-ten!  It was super cute.
