C2 lately

So C2 has been on a roll lately for saying funny things, here are a few examples:

At dinner a few weeks ago:  Daddy told C1 to use his fork because he was not a barbarian.  A few seconds later C1 asked..."Dad, what is a barbarian?"  Then C2 pipes up and answers "you know that!  Barbarians give you books at the library!"

Then tonight at the dinner table, we were eating ham bone soup and C3 was picking out all of the different kinds of beans.  She would comment with "here is a bean!" each time she found one...then she couldn't find any more and told me "I don't know where a bean is!"  To which C2 answered "You don't have a penis...you aren't a boy!"

I am Moana!

Moana has been a huge hit at our house this spring.  I have 3 little kiddos who spend entire days singing "How Far I'll Go" and "Your Welcome".  C3 in particular loves the songs from Moana, she can sing pretty much the entire soundtrack but favorites are "and no one knows how far I'll go!" and "Moana...make way, make way!" and of course "I am Moana!".  The girls dress up in grass skirts and make boats out of blankets and chair and then act out scenes.  Last week I painted rocks for each of them so they can have their own "Heart of Tafiti".  C2 likes to watch the movie and copy all of Moana's motions, her favorite part is walking slowly along with Moana and then putting the heart back in Tafiti (or on our entertainment center in her case).  We also hear a lot of "You will board my boat!"

At C1's soccer game C3 stood at the top of a set of stairs down to the park, held onto the stair rail and sang Moana songs at the top of her lungs, it was way more entertaining that the soccer game...

Babyisms

Cute things my kids have said in regard to our new baby:

C2:  while watching our new baby fall asleep - "Mom, her eyes are starting to wilt"

C3:  every day, about 100 times a day:  "Oh, that's my baby, she's so cute!  She loves me, she loves me so much!  Oh, she's so sweet!"  "Sweet, sweet baeba"

All of the kids LOVE holding, rocking, and feeding our new baby.  Before holding the baby the kids are pros at sanitizing their hands (a skill they had to perfect because we were all super sick the first few weeks after the baby was born).  They are constantly running to check on her.  When the baby goes down for tummy time the kids know to get out a blanket and then set up one of the baby board books for her to look at.

Dress Up

C3 is in full dress-up mode these days.  She loves crowns, fancy shoes, and tutus.  This week she came downstairs wearing a crown and a bib.  Then she said "Mom!  Look at me, I am a clean princess!"  It was adorable.  There is nothing better than a little toddler running around in princess shoes and a crown...and sometimes a bib!

C3 at Christmas

C3 can really enjoy Christmas this year, she particularly loves Rudalph the Red Nosed Reindeer and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  C3 runs to the Abominable Snowmonster on our Christmas tree and says "Monster! Don't Eat Olaf!" (Which is what she calls Rudolph).  She calls the Grinch the "Binch" and loves wearing her "Binch shirt".

The way we do cold cereal

C2 was enjoying a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios last week and then turned to her Dad and asked if she could have another bowl..."Stoned Up Please?".  What?  "Can I have my next bowl stoned up?"  She meant that she wanted the cereal sans the milk.  No, I have not been slipping something extra into our second bowls of cereal!
