Chocolate
Today while I was making dinner I heard Cyrus say while playing on his own, "If someone was sad - I would go to the store and buy them chocolate!" Remember that next time Mommy has a hard day kiddo.

Birthday cookies
We had Cindy Kay's birthday party with Eric's family today and she got to open her presents, eat cake, etc. Cyrus was really supportive of it being Cindy's day but he did say one thing that I don't want to forget. When Cindy opened one of her gifts (a bag of animal crackers) Cyrus shouted out -really loud- "Birthday cookies for me and Cindy to share!" We are really hitting sharing with him lately, he is pretty good at making sure Cindy shares...and doing better at sharing himself too.

To be awesome
A couple Sundays ago during lunch Cyrus us that "Daddy is awesome.". Sweet right? Then he turns to me and says "Mommy tries to be awesome." -Ouch! Good thing my ego can withstand being compared to Daddy!

Darn Boogers
Today Cyrus woke up with a runny nose. While Eric was getting ready Cyrus told him that today he "has a sickness". Eric asked him what he was sick with and Cyrus replied that he has a "booger brain". Poor kid, that doesn't sound fun at all!

New Year's Resolutions
For family night tonight we taught Cyrus about making goals to be more like Jesus. After the lesson we asked him what his goal for this year will be. He promptly said: To be like a shepherd (I have no idea where he came up with that). But we went with it and asked him what he could do to be like a shepherd. This is what we ended up with: give people hugs, share with people, read stories with Mommy, say prayers, go to church, and learn about Jesus. Those sound like good goals to me!

Jasmine
Cyrus has gotten into Aladdin after watching the short play they have in Califonia Adventure land. He really likes Iago, he thinks it is really funny when the sultan stuffs crackers into Iago's mouth. Yesterday when he was watching Aladdin with Eric (we have to watch it with him or else he gets too scared; we have to skip the scenes with the Cave of Wonders and Prince Ahkmed, and we turn it off after "A Whole New World"). Anyways, while they were watching he repeated Iago's line "the problem with your daughter", and it came out "the ploblem with yo daudo" because he doesn't say his /r/s yet. It sounded really cute.
Cyrus's Post Mission Plans
During our prayers with Cyrus we generally ask that , among other things, Heavenly Father will bless him to serve a mission and have a temple marriage. Today during prayers I cued him with "bless that Cyrus will grow up and..." then he filled in, "go on a mission, and go on a date", and then finished with "get married in the temple". I guess dating after your mission is something that a lot of boys pray for, but probably not 3-year-old boys!
