Preschool friends
Cyrus has made a couple of friends in his preschool class this year. Most are friends he made in preschool last year, but there is one girl who is new, for Halloween she gave out little bags of candy with a tag on them and I once found that he was sleeping with Chloe's tag under his pillow. Then when he came home from preschool last week he had a picture she had drawn for him in his backpack. He found Cindy Kay's Princess Sophia coloring book and colored this Chloe a special princess picture, because "she likes princesses". He took it to her today.

Christmas Trees
Yesterday night we took down the Christmas tree once the kids were in bed, this morning when Cindy Kay noticed the tree was gone she told me that "the Grinch took our Christmas tree" and that he had taken it "back to his workshop" and then he would "bring it back to our house". She loves loves loves that story!

Merry Christmas sayings:
Cindy has been saying some pretty cute things this Christmas, my favorites have been: calling Santa "Santa-ta" I have no idea where she picked that up but it has stuck around all season, and my mom got her some jammies with Cindy Lou on them which she loves because they have her name on them. When she wears them she calls herself Cindy Kay Lou Who and it sounds like "Cindy Tay Woo hoo". Christmas rocks

New Baby Girl
We just had a new baby girl and Cindy has had some pretty funny things to say about her...She was really surprised the first time she saw the baby's umbilical cord. Grammy explained that that was where the baby's belly button was and Cindy turned and said, "that's not a belly button, that is poop". She then told Grammy that she needed to clean it off.
She also has a pretty cute name for our new baby Chandel, she calls her "shambell" and says that the baby is Bell and she is Cinderella.

Big brothers are important
Yesterday morning Cyrus woke up and looked outside. He got very excited when he saw frost on the mountains and ran to tell his dad that "it must be Christmas over there!"
Then a few minutes later he was finding a toy and concerned that Cindy Kay didn't have one too. His Dad told him that she was just out of luck, and he replied..."She's not out of luck, she has a big brother!"
Cyrus takes being a big brother very seriously, he tries to be a good example and helps to take care of his sister when she is sad or sick. Lately it has been fun to watch Cindy Kay returning the hugs and comforting him when he is upset too. Adding a third baby into the mix will be exciting :)

Super Sweet and Sassy
So Cindy Kay has always been very sweet and very sassy. She knows what she wants, that is for sure. Today Cyrus needed a stool so I sent him down into our basement to get one and I told Cindy Kay that she needed to stay upstairs with me. This was not what she wanted. My sweet little two-year-old turned to me and said, "I am not going to play with you any more...I am going to go up to my bedroom and cry". Whoa - and I was really fighting mixed emotions (trying not to laugh, being proud of her for putting together such a long phrase, and trying to decide if I should let her get away with talking back like that...).

Names for our new baby
Cyrus has been working hard to pick a name for our baby (which he is convinced will be a boy). A few days ago at the breakfast table he told us he had picked the perfect name..."Housebreaker". Eric and I burst out laughing and then of course I felt terrible for laughing right in my poor son's face but, come on, who wouldn't have?
